I was first licenced in 1977 as G8NEY having sat the RAE with my old school mate Phi, G8NEZ. Originally from Minehead where I operated for a number of years. I was never interested in CW until I started operating on microwaves where I could see how useful it could be. Thanks go to Chris G0HFX at the Trowbridge Club who managed to get me through the morse test, gaining the callsign M0GHZ in 2000, although sadly I am still not very proficient.

My main interests are dxing and contesting on the bands from 2m to 10GHz. Having spent a number of years contesting with major contest groups, I now enjoy operating with the Trowbridge & District ARC and encouraging our members to participate.

My eldest son Peter is licenced as 2E0NEY and hopes to have my old G8NEY callsign when he passed the advanced examination.

I am employed as a Systems Engineer and enjoy homebrew when time permits.

Other interests include dinghy racing, and firework displays.
