*HF station details: Yaesu FT-857, Antenna is a G5RV in an inverted V position, and power out is typically between 20~40 Watts. *Internet Radio Linking Project, node 3415 is
operational. Link on in and say hello! (the node has been acting up these days, and is going to be upgraded soon) I am WQ8M living abroad in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, UK. I may live here until 2011 or 2012. Out of all my hobbies - flying, skiing, camping, travelling, Amateur Radio has been the most fun for me. These days, I enjoy radio for a different reason than when I first entered the hobby in 1981 at 16 years old. Simply put, I like using RF to make new friends, to strengthen old friendships, and anything else fun that happens while doing so is just "icing on the cake!" I also believe that promoting international goodwill is a duty of an Amateur Radio Operator. I hope to see you on HF/VHF/UHF direct, or use technology (VoIP) and link into IRLP.net node 3415 - timezone = Zulu. Best regards! Current Plans: -Get IRLP node going at home for our local group and visitors alike to use (Done. 13 May 2009) -Get IRLP node going in Harrogate for our local group and visitors alike to use (Done. 27 Oct 2009) -Upgrade IRLP node 3415 hardware and OS (in progress) -Build up an HF station at home (Done. 30 Oct 2009) -Look into setting up and running an APRS iGate to serve Amateurs travelling through or near the Harrogate area.
