I am living abroad in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, UK.  I will be here until 2011 or 2012.  Out of all my hobbies - flying, skiing, camping, travelling, Amateur Radio has been the most productive and fun for me. I am an RF enthusiast, whether it be Ham Radio, wireless routers, cellular devices, broadcasting, RC model transmitters, car key remote, garage door openers, etc.  Where would we be without our knowledge and use of RF?  How do you heat up your leftovers? That's right - RF! What magic!

Current Plans:

-Get IRLP node going at home for our local group and visitors alike to use (Done. 13 May 2009)

-Get IRLP node going in Harrogate for our local group and visitors alike to use (Done. 27 Oct 2009)

-Upgrade IRLP node 3415 hardware and OS (in progress)

-Build up an HF station at home (Done.  30 Oct 2009)

-Get antennas/radios up and running at home for 2m, 70cm and possibly 6m.

-Look into setting up and running a simple APRS iGate in Harrogate or Pateley or both.  This is so that travellers APRS bursts will be picked up and posted to the Internet.  What fun!

-Get a dual-bander mounted in the Smart Car somehow.  The radio will be no problem.  It's the mounting the antenna (no ground plane on a glass roof) that will be the challenge.  But I have a plan...
