Recently returned (2011) to the wonderful world of radio after about 15 years away. Running a Kenwood TS-940S, which has replaced my Yaesu FT-902DM as my main radio. A 6m high Home Brew vertical antenna or a 66' top doublet, runs thru a Kenwood AT-230 AMU. Microphone is a Kenwood MC-50. I use a Homebrew DSP audio filter, incorporated into my Yaesu SP-102 Speaker. I'm active on all HF bands except 160m. Most of my on-air time is spent with JT-65 or JT9 and occasional dabbles with PSK and other modes. When i get onto SSB, I have a Drake L75 Linear, a wonderful amp. I QSL 100% via LoTW and eQSL (no bureau) SWL reports always welcome.
1: operators who say 73's, there's no "S" guys, it's like saying "best wishes-es".
2: operators on crowded bands with expanded SSB tx bandwidth set to 4khz and more, forgetting that most operators are using 2.4-2.7khz filters. YOU SOUND AWFUL guys. just listen to them all late nights on 80m, all uttering weird sounds so that they can hear "themselves", boy do they love themselves hihi.
3: Ex CB operators who haven't managed to lose the 11m lingo on 40m (the new 11m), roger this, roger that, roger roger give me a break guys.
