I was born in Sheffield, worked and lived most of the time in the City. Came in to contact with large number of Radio Hams. I sat the new Foundation exam and got my first licence on the 24/04/02 M3ANC. I have been a SWL for 25 years, part of this was spent in the Royal Signals TA as a radio operator, this helped with the morse, no point been in the signals if your cant do the morse. I passed the RSGB morse exam in 1997. Due to work and the shutting down of local Colleges it was difficult to find anywere local to me to sit the exams. The interest of radio as never gone away as close friends got there Amateur licences I was left just to listen, eventualy I got the M3ANC and could now join in.
