hello my name is peter and i recently passed my foundation exam at the end of may 2012. i am looking forward to taking my intermediate next as i have found this such an exciting hobby. radio has always found a fascination with me as i do a lot of short wave listening. i had the oppurtunity to do the foundation licence when i found my friend was doing it, so i thought lets go for it because if i dont i never will!! my only regret is i didnt do it sooner. i am a member of the chorley and district amateur radio society who i did my foundation licence with. i am married to m6sxi (sammi) and we both enjoy contacting sota and dx stations on 2 metres. we have made many good friends on radio and we both look forward to working you. i will reply to any cards sent to me via eqsl. we both will be calling out on 145.500mhz every weekend spring/summer 2013 for any stations outside the greater manchester region. it would be great to work you, i'll look forward to it!

my current setup is a mobile transceiver yaesu ft-1500 for 2m use and a kenwood ts680s and yaesu ftdx-3000 for hf.

my two shortwave recievers are a yaesu frg-7700 and a rather old but good racal ra17l in very good condition.

i am an ex tv/radio/audio engineer (that is repairing electronic equipment) having passed the city and guilds part 1,2,3, in electronic servicing.

hobbies include restoring and renovating valve radio recievers from the 1920's upto 1960's. i also enjoy walking in the lake district too.

nearly everyone i have spoken to have been an absolute delight to chat with and i thank anyone who has made contact with me. still struggling with some callsigns but i am new and i'm sure i will pick it up with time, they do say practice makes perfect.

73's for now

peter (m6prr)

my beloved racal ra17l receiver. this is an unusual one because it does have a metal enclosure with it too and also i have a couple of low frequency converters too that enable the receiver to receive frequencies below 1.5mhz. i was also lucky to get the handbook and circuit diagrams too.
