2009 is the year of "Homecoming" in Scotland . "Homecoming" is a year long
celebration aimed at attracting the Scottish Diaspora as well as those
interested in Scottish traditions to Scotland . Numerous events have been and
will be held throughout Scotland this year.

 Amateur Radio in Scotland plays a part and are pleased to
announce that Ofcom have agreed to special prefixes to be used by Radio Amateurs in Scotland until 30th November 2009.
The prefixes will be GA, MA and 2A . The A replacing the M in the prefix. A to
represent Alba the Gaelic name for Scotland.
The special prefixes will only be issued to Amateurs whose main residence is in
Scotland..
