From now till the 30th of november 2009 i will be using the call MA6GLI the second letter A stands for ALBA which is theGAELIC name for SCOTLAND.Homecoming scotland is an events programme celebrating scotlands contributions to the world .In 2009 scotland is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the poet robert burns birth, scottish contributions to golf and the wee dram ,whisky, plus scotlands culture and its heritage. There will be a qsl card to mark this event for more information go to www.homecomingscotland.com. Hi everyone like most people, at a young age i got interested in cb radio having a old a.m radio before f.m became legal here in the uk in 1981 i then got interested in 11 metre ssb which i enjoyed really much but ,for my neighbours who were complaining of tvi and going through radios  and well that was that ,i went of the air in 1995.And so it was that in december 2008 a got round to getting my amateur licence and enjoying every minute of it I like a good ragchew ,not really a fan of the 5 and 9 see you later thing.

My qth is 20 km north east of the city of glasgow in the town of cumbernauld.I can be found on hf and now i am trying my hand at psk31, rtty, sstv.  Equipment i am using at the moment is as follows:  yaesu ft- 2000  with matching sp 2000  speaker  which i have just got was using ft 1000 mark v field,  great radio: mic is also by yaesu md 200 desk mic : antenna is a hustler 6-btv  trapped vertical for 10m to  80m  meters which is ground mounted i have now put down some radials, 4 for each band and it seems to be  working really well ,height of antenna is 7.3m (24ft)  , lucky for me  i live in a fairly high location ,every little helps when you are a  qrp station but, a love a challenge the only thing about this antenna it is a bit narrow on 80m about 60khz bandwidth so need to use the tuner for most of 80m band.I qsl 100% no need for return postage. My other passion in my life (apart from the xyl) is cars i have had dozens of them ,the thing i enjoy the most is modifing them my current car is a subaru impreza wrx which is the car i have enjoyed the most in terms of driving and getting it looking the way it is today (see pic below) so anyway remember, we are not strangers, we are just friends that have never met  thanks for looking and see you further down the log 73s from glasgow :   locator io85aw.Laughing
