I started my radio interests I think the same way most everyone else did from CB and SW listening as a young boy; gradually becoming interested in the Ham Bands monitoring and then in 1994 became licensed as a Tech with the my present and only call sign. My favorite brand of rigs are Yaesu and Icom which is why I have had an FT-920 for HF and 6M and the IC-275 / IC-475 for 2M and 70CM for some time now, (I know there are those who will feel differently, but I like what I like)! Anyway I look forward to making as many friends on HF, once I upgrade to General Class, as I have made on VHF / UHF over the last few years since being licensed.I have a facination with my transmitted audio and have been looking into broadcast quality gear to enhance my audio. I am amazed at the lengths some amateurs go to for superior audio in SSB transmissions and am truely impressed with the many hams I hear with these modified station set ups.
Below is my family crest as I am a proud Irishman with all of the many traits the Irish possess...eg. drinking good scotch whiskey, a good argument / fight...LOL!
See you on the bands!
