Greetings!! My main interests are DXing and Contesting on the HF bands, mainly CW.
Besides working DX, I can be found hunting for RDA ( http://www.rdaward.org ), WFF ( http://www.wff44.org ), and IOTA ( http://www.rsgbiota.org ). I participate in the CQWW and ARRL DX contests from the Western Pennsylvania Multi/Multi station of Tim, K3LR, primarily on the 10 meter station.
During the winter months, I like to fire up the old tube gear and keep the shack warm. The picture above is my latest project, a 1929 Hartley Oscillator for 80 meters that I'll have on the air for the Antique Wireless Associations 1929 Bruce Kelley Memorial QSO Party.
I also enjoy the Summits On The Air program - SOTA, and have been activating some of the summits on the western side of Pennsylvania. I use the Yaesu FT-857D on battery power at 5W, a PAR End-Fedz 40/20/10 trail freindly version, and a Whiterook MK-44 cw paddle when I'm on the summits. Everything fits very nice in a backpack for hiking.
Logs are still open for NP3/N3GJ which was active from May 15th to May 19th, 2004 from San Juan, Puerto Rico (NA-099). QSL via N3GJ at the above address, via the bureau, or via LoTW. If you sent for a card and have not received it, please email me and I will get you a card.
