Have been licensed since 1985. Enjoy building all types of homebrew equipment, especially VHF and UHF equipment. Have just started working HF QRP and I really love the challenge. The CW is getting a little better but I still need lots of practice. Also love the old AM boat anchor stuff and am experimenting with AM class E equipment.

I am trying to get back on 6 meters again. I was very active during the last sunspot maximum. I had a construction article in QST titled "A Compact Brick for Six Meters" which was a popular amplifier project in 1990.

Have been inactive for the past 7-8 years on all the bands while getting my three children educated and grown up. At this time I am using several dipoles and a full size 40 meter vertical with 60 radials. I have  have a small log periodic HF beam coming and will get it on the 56 foot tower in the next few months. I need to find some help in putting it up.

The old 38 foot 6 meter W1JR beam will have to come down. A little smaller 6 meter beam is now on the rooftop.

I also enjoy offshore fishing off Edisto Beach, SC.

I own a small electrical consulting engineering firm in Spartanburg, SC.
