I was first licensed in 1958 as KN5RDM, but only became active since 1979. I am mainly interested in DX on 160 through 6 meters. I operate SSB, CW, RTTY, & PSK.

My main rig is an Icom IC-751A and Clipperton-L amplifier.

Antennas are:

* Hygain TH3MK3 on a 40-foot crank-up tower for 10/15/20.

* 12/17-meter trapped dipole element mounted on the TH3 boom.

* Alpha Delta DX-B 1/4-wave sloper from the tower for 160/80/40/30

* Hygain VB-64DX at 25 ft. for 6-meters. I use a Yaesu FT857D on 6.

* WinLog 32 logging software.

Antenna deed restrictions and a small city lot limits my antennas, but I am very pleased with the results I have been able to achieve with modest antennas and low power. I have worked 310 countries under these restrictions to date.

I also use the Yaesu FT-857D as a portable HF rig when we travel in our 5th-wheel trailer. We have a log of our travels on the web at www.cookfamilyhome.com.

I QSL via the LoTW (preferred), BURO, direct (sase) and eQSL(rarely check & upload).
