Hi, everyone! I'm a 50 year-old electrical engineer, comp-sci engineer and sales executive that returned to amateur radio in 2007, after a 20 year hiatus. I am active on HF, having been bitten by the DX bug. I am am also active in HF WAS nets, but spend most of my on-air time working HF weak-signal digital modes.

Station highlights include:

  • ANAN-100D
  • Flex Radio 6700
  • Icom IC-7100
  • Elecraft K3-100
  • SRL QS1R DDC SDR receiver
  • SteppIR DB-18E
  • Butternut HF9V
  • SteppIR Big IR
  • RadioWorks Carolina Windom 80
  • Pixel Technologies RF-PRO 1B magnetic loop with preamp
  • Yaesu VL1000/VP1000 Quadra amplifier

I listen to the Livingston (MI USA) County Amateur Radio Klub 2M repeater @ 146.680 MHz, so say "hi" if you're in the area.I look forward to hearing from you

EDIT January 12 2014: I have several rigs running CW Skimmer and JT65-HF 24/7. Please check my call on HamSpots, RBN and PSKreporter to see what my station is "hearing" at any given moment!

73,

Mike - N8MSA

The current main operating position. You can see a hint of the rat's nest of cables that is (barely) hiding behind the major components.

This is yours truly aboard "Urgent Business", operating marine mobile.
