My favorite ways to communicate are through HF, Satellite, and Meteor Scatter.
I also play with S, X, & K Band Microwave.

My car computer configuration can do:

HF phone, HF CW, HF Digital, VHF/UHF Phone, Packet, cross-band repeat,
digipeat, APRS, Satellite (vhf/uhf/2.4ghz), Internet access, WiFi, and Eye-fi
wireless photos and video, play MP3s.  Each audio channel from each device is individually selectable to left, right, or both car speakers.

In the Trunk --
Laptop in Docking Bay with 12v Auto Power supply.
Wireless Card to connect to WLAN's + Bluetooth Cellphone internet
Wireless Access Point - shares internet connection with outside of car
Battery with smart alternator connection and soft shutdown
Kenwood TM-D700 & FT-857 radios for HF/VHF/UHF

In the cabin --
Touch Screen connected to laptop
TM-D700 and FT-857 radio heads
USB HUB, Memory Card Readers
Morse code paddles
Switch-Mixer to select audio into an FM Modulator
