Click for more detail... Two years after my father was licenced as a Ham Radio Operator, I followed suit and was originally licenced as KA9JFJ in September 1980 at the age of 16. Over the course of the next few years, I upgraded my licence to the General, then Advance, and finally the Extra Class. When I started DX-ing and Contesting, I wanted to changed my call sign to a shorter one, and was issued NK9I in May 1986 and I have been using it ever since. Equipment includes: Yaesu FT-1000MP with Quadra Amp, Info-Tech CW Keyboard, K7NV Prop Pitch Controller, Ameritron remote coax switch. Antennas are: Hygain TH6-DXX at 70ft, Cushcraft A3WS with 30M at 75ft and ½ wire dipoles for 40, 80, and 160 at 68ft. I use a desktop computer with DX4WIN for everyday use and general logging. A laptop computer for contesting using N1MM, and digital modes PSK31 and RTTY with a Rigblaster Pro interface.
