Greetings! I've been licensed since the winter of 1988. I became a General in 2000 and an Extra in 2012 (ex-N5NPL).

I presently serve the amateur radio and larger communities as the City of Dallas RACES Radio Officer and ARES Emergency Coordinator. I am a member of the Dallas Amateur Radio Club, Dallas County REACT, and Dallas Makerspace ARC clubs. I am club trustee forĀ KD5MS, the Dallas Makerspace Amateur Radio Club.

I am an W5YI VE and routinely Elmer new hams individually or through classes at the Dallas Makerspace.

Active on various digital HF modesĀ and VHF/UHF voice. QSL through LotW or eQSL. I do not believe in destroying trees to send paper QSLs. The thrill and magic are in the making of the contact, communication by RF. Not in the paper that comes afterwards. I don't chase awards.

I have am happily married to Heather, KC5BUG (ex-KC5ZTK) since October of 1993. She understands and lets me play radio because she is as much of geek as I am.
