I enjoy HF DXing, particularly while mobile. 6m is fun too.
New New Mobile: moved the K-line to a 2016 Toyota Highlander. The coolest part of the move is that Jerry at Breedlove Mounts modified his electric-tilt Scorpion Antenna mount to fit my needs. Now I can park in garages with the flip of a switch...really useful in Cold Country. It seems to play well, given that I hooked VK0EK on 80m.
Home Station (currently QRT): TS-850S/AT with an old BTI LK-2000 (3-1000Z) amp driving a Gap Titan DX. For 6m I use a Ten-Tec 1208 transverter with the TS-850, an old Johnson 6N2 Thunderbolt, and a homebrew Moxon rectangle up about 25'. I extensively modified both amps, which were very interesting and fun projects.
I like having a laboratory and have a fair collection of HP and GR RF stuff from the 60s and 70s.

Professionally, I am a Fellow-Corporate Technology at "a large wireless telephone company"
