I started my hamlife 1950 in town Nokia South Finland assisting the club station OH3OX, Nokian Radioamatöörit ry.
Club station OH3OX participated 1950 the 3rd WWDX-CONTEST. OH3QL (21y) assisted OH3OX 1950.
Built 1952 my own OH3QL station in Nokia. Tx was home made VFO/6F6/6V6/807, Rx Eddystone S 640.
I have worked as OH3QL in Nokia 1950-54 and Mänttä 1962, as OH9QL in Kemi 1954-1961 and in Kemijärvi 1963-66. Pulp Mills have been my employer those QTH's.
Since 1967 again OH3QL in Tervakoski. I am a member of OH3AD, Riihimäen Kolmoset ry and have been 1997-2009 in working staff of SRAL QSL bureau.
The rig since 1996 is ICOM 736 ( barefoot, no filters ) - 100 W, 50 W on RTTY and PSK. Antennas G5RV ( 31- and 63 m ) , DIAMOND CP6 and 4-el YAGI on 50 MHz. On digimodes I have used all the time MMTTY 1.68A and DigiPan 2.0.
My profession is B.Sc. industrial chemistry. I have worked since 1954 in the pulp and paper mill laboratories, being head of the water and wastewater treatment plants including environmental questions. My favourite area at Tervakoski Oy Mills was nonwood (flax, cotton, hemp) pulping and papermaking of the speciality papers, such as cigarette and banknote papers.
Retired Aug. 1994 from Sachsen Papier Eilenburg Germany and acted Nov. 1995 and Nov. 1996 as UNIDO's consultant in Pyongyang Cigarette Paper Mill in North Korea.
Since 1950 I have worked only 24 500 qso's but have 304 countries and 239 countries on digimodes confirmed (October 2014). That means listening and waiting and trying and a little good luck - of course.
In the QSL- photo I am 85 years and still interested in my hobby.
Thank You to see my information.
