ON44NUTS

Le Radio Club des Ardennes ON4RCA situé à Bastogne activera du 22 décembre 2011 au 30 juin 2012 l'indicatif spécial ON44NUTS. Ceci à la mémoire de tous les militaires US tombés pour notre liberté mais aussi pour rappeler un épisode célèbre de la bataille de Bastogne lorsque le Général McAuliffe répondit NUTS à l’assaillant allemand suite leur demande de capituler.

The Radio Club of the Ardennes, ON4RCA, located in Bastogne, Belgium, will be on the air from 22 December 2011 until 30 June 2012 with the special event station ON44NUTS. This station is in memory of all the US soldiers that fought and died for the liberty of Belgium and the City of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. On 22 December 1944, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe told the German Commander “NUTS” when he was asked to surrender his troops.

De radio club van de Ardennen uit Bastenaken zal on the air zijn van 22 December 2011 tot 30 Juni 2012 met het special event roepteken ON44NUTS. Dit ter nagedachtenis aan alle US militairen, gevallen voor onze vrijheid maar ook ter herinnering aan een bekende episode van de Slag om Bastenaken wanneer de Generaal McAuliffe NUTS antwoordde aan de Duitse commandant na de vraag om zich over te geven.
