I live in the north-east part of Belgium. About 40 kms (30 miles) NE from the seaport of Antwerp and just a bit south of the border with PA-land. I received my first licence in october 2001 holding the callsign ON2VS. In march 2002 i upgraded to callsign ON1VS, which enabled me to also be active on the 6m band. I got interested in this band because of all the things told me by ON5PU. I was solely active on VHF until august 2003. After that date i changed to HF and since then i hold the callsign ON5GY. I am mostly active on 10, 15, 20 and 40m bands. Equipment consists of an IC-746, SM-6 mike, Imax 2000 vertical antenna that i use on 10-12-15-17 m. bands and a G5RV antenna for 20/40/80 m. bands. I am also interested in RTTY and other digital modes. My other interests in radio are QSL-ing, collecting awards, IOTA, WAS, WAZ, participating in the odd contest and working special event stations. 73's to all. When it comes to the subject of QSL'ing : I still believe in the 'old fashioned' paper QSL card. There for I do not accept, acknowledge or reply to electronic QSLs. I also collect coins from the USA State Quarter program. You can email me for a wantlist of those states i still need. I also like photography. Thank you in advance.
