for those who are interested - some info on the Port of Scheveningen below

The southern pier has a length of 730 meters
and the northern pier has a length of 580 meters.
the original piers date back till 1902 for the northern
pier and 1903 for the southern pier
they both had a length of 295 meters then,
but in 1970 they were extended further out into the Northsea
to the above lenghts. to give the ships entering or leaving port
better protection against the streams and winds mainly
comming from the south/southwest,they made the southern pier longer

Lighthouse NL0025 Is Not A Good Place To Be During A Storm

But when the weather is good, salt water and antenna's are a perfect combination for DX

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
