Thanks for visiting my qrz.com page.
The QTH is Ermelo, a small village about 50 miles east of Amsterdam. We are lucky to live in a rural area, a real blessing for the radiohobby. At this moment the station consist of a Kenwood TS-590 and TS-480. The antenna you see on the picture is an Optibeam OB9-5. Great antenna! I put it up in 2013. Before 2013 I only worked with wire-antennas. Now having the Optibeam DX-ing became a whole new world for me.
For 40m and 80m I use a Fritzel FD-4. I am rarely active on the topband: still trying to find out the best antenna setup for that band.
In 2015 I did some improvements on my station. One of them is the installation of a complete remote station. This is a Kenwood ts-480sat connected to remoterig 1258mkII. Also the Optibeam is now remote, using the Remoterig RC 1216H. So on my travels I just have to bring the front of the ts-480 and find myself a reliable internet connection and we are QRV. All equipment can be shut off from distance and the complete system is monitored by a surveilance camera (arlo system). Next step will be to also connect an amplifier and a remote antennaswitch to this set-up. That would make the remote station complete in my eyes. In the authum of 2015 I was able to really try the remote station, during our stay in the USA. I have to say: I'm impressed. Almost no latency. Thank you Remoterig.
For CW I use a simple bencher or the good old Junker DBGM. The (other) digital modes have my interest, but still need to set up a digital station.
I'm member of VERON and ARRL. QSL is by bureau and I do upload my logs in LoTW and clublog. Sorry, no eQSL.
