Antenne on my balkoni

Dear Om/Yl,

Thank you for visiting my qrz.com page. I was born in march 1945 in the place of Zatec (formerly known as Saaz) Czech republic. Lived after ware time with my parents and brother in Rotterdam until 1971. Then moved into our present living in the city of Spijkenisse. Since 1961 I worked for the Dutch Railway, and retired in 2001.

I started in 1960 at the age of 15 with the radio hobby. I was many times listening to broadcast stations. At the time Radio Luxembourg was my favourite. Also I took pleasure in collecting old tube radio's. My parents were not amused with all the old rubbish, which I most of the time bought at flea markets.

I did my first Ham exam in 1981, and became PD0LNH, following later that year, the full license was mine, and I became PA3DHR ( hi, D for dutch, H for ham and R for radio). After a few years I build a contest station at the greenery farm of my brother in law. In an old caravan for more than 10 years we where ( my son and me) very active in all modes. My son (now PG4DX) is still very active in the contest group PI4CC. I don't spent much time in contests anymore, but I'm very active on the bands, in different modes.

MS Minesweeper AMS 60 "BERNISSE" is a sailing monument. It is a Minesweeper from the Beemster class.Through the Marshall plan was built some wooden minesweepers type AMS (Adjutant Mine Sweeper) in the US and EU after the Second World War. They were among more in use by the Belgian Navy and the Royal Dutch Navy. The Royal Dutch Navy has for a long time a number of this kind of minesweepers into service. MS "BERNISSE" belonged to the Belgian Navy. The ship was built in 1953 in Temse in Belgium and 21 june 1954 under the name M 927 SPA. In 1997 our Foundation purchased thoroughly derelict ship, was it renamed all of "Paradijs" and start could be made with the repairs. End of June 1997 was accepted travel Willebroek in Belgium to Rotterdam. After problems during the voyage could begin a long period of tinkering. In 1999 was the first trail run. In 2001 following a dry dock at the historic "Jan Blankendok" in Hellevoetsluis. In 2002 the ship was renamed "BERNISSE". In the spring 2012 was moored at the museum promenade Koningskade in Hellevoetsluis and many volunteers perform maintenance to keep the AMS 60 "BERNISSE" into service.

The content of my volunteer, since December 2015, it`s renovation and operation from the radio shack. The following equipment is set up and the most is working.

Telefunken shortwave receiver type E104 kw8 - Siemens shortwave receiver type 445E 311e2 - Siemens longwave receiver type S42044-E350-a1 - Shortwave and longwave receiver and shortwave transmitter made by Rees Mace Navy in 1954

The equipment used on the amateur bands is also pretty dated.

Shortwave receiver/transmitter type Sommerkamp FT-277, nickname "the working horse" , built by the Yaesu Corporation during 1970s and 1980s  - Home made asymmetrical antenne tuner - Inverted "L" antenna 20 mtr long, between the 2 masts.

I hope the PI4AMS callsign (in demand) or with my call PA3DHR to make many connections on the BERNISSE well as sailing from the various locations.

Are you interested come along and make use of the tour on board.

Address: Museum promenade,  Koningskade 6,   3221 CC HELLEVOETSLUIS.
