Started 1960 with radio during my military years and from 1961 with amateur radio , for training and fun .
Worked very much from the military station SL7BC in the navalcity of Karlskrona , in the southeastern part of Sweden .
The city is nowadays a World heritage and became very wellknown, in autumn 1981 together with the phrase
" WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS ." The Whiskey U-137 ,was a russian submarine , on a spy mission in the
navalbase-area of Karlskrona .It was a very clumsy mission. The Whisky-class-submarine ran aground and could
not escape . They had to wait for swedish help . Indeed very funny . Evil tongues sad that the captain was sent to
the very northern part of Siberia , for a long vacation . His name was Gustjin .
My first CW- DX was with W2LFB , Thomas J. Azzara on May 23 ,1961 on 40 m , an early springtime morning
when the sun was just comming up .I still have his QSL-card on my wall .
Then I also worked very much from SL6BE, my home-regiment in Goteborg ( Gothenburg ),with both CW and AM .
I was also out one summer , as a Radioofficer on the swedish general cargoship, Silverland / SHMW, 12000 ton d.w.
Worked some years with broadcasting & television at The Swedish Telecommunication Company ( Televerket )
before I finished withThe Swedish Television Company ( SVT ) in Stockholm and at the end i Gothenburg .
I also activated the clubstaiton SK0AC & SK6DA and my previous callsigns were SM5DOO & SM0DOO .
Thanks for beeing on my page. Best 73 / Leif .
