update 22/02/2011

The final curtain fell for last summer's VHF-expedition (SY8VHF) at Othonous island (Loc: JM99QU), in which I participated along with Yannis SV3CYM and Michalis SV8GKE.

We have finally managed to prepare and send the final batch of QSL cards to anyone who completed a QSO with SY8VHF.

A total of 1850 QSL cards are on the way to both Greek and international operators. All QSOs were held in VHF (144MHz) and UHF (432 + 1296 MHz) in SSB and CW mode.

In dew time, if an operator has not received his QSL card, please feel free to contact me via email at danaos1[at]vodafone.net.gr for further action.

All QSL cards have been sent via (SV) Bureau. The ones received direct with SAE and IRCs included, are also on their way and last but not least we also replied to those who “forgot” to include SAE and IRCs.

We wish to thank you all for contacting SY8VHF and also all of you who sent us your QSL card.

On behalf of the SY8VHF team

SV1BJY Yannis

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
