TC SWAT  is proud to inform you about new TC activities in collaboration with the Directorate General of Coastal Safety (http://www.kiyiemniyeti.gov.tr/default.asp?id=0&lng=en ). It has been now ten years since the big earthquake of August 17, 1999 hit the Marmara area of Turkiye  (http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_G%C3%B6lc%C3%BCk_Depremi  ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_%C4%B0zmit_earthquake  ). TCSWAT will be on the air to remember those who lost their lives in this natural disaster. There will be two stations; one from Yalova – TC99Y and one from Kocaeli- TC99K . Since the anniversary coincides with the International Lighthose Weekend, stations will be located in lighthouses on the coast of Marmara Sea. TC99Y will  be active from Bozburun Lighthouse in Yalova ( KN40JM ) and TC99K  from Yelkenkaya Lighthouse TUR-054 in Kocaeli ( KN40QS ). TC1LHW, a TCSWAT classic, will also be on the air from Karaburun Lighthouse TUR-036  on the Black Sea coast. Activity will be mainly on HF SSB, VHF-UHF FM. Marmara Lighthouses On The Air (MLOTA) Award by TCSWAT

Between August 2009 and May 2010, TCSWAT in collaboration with Coastal Safety Administration is going to activate seven historical lighthouses around the Marmara Sea. The dates, locations and callsigns of these are as follows:

1. 15-17 August 2009 Kocaeli Yelkenkaya Lighthouse (TUR 054): TC99K  ( Done )
2. 15-17 August 2009 Yalova Bozburun Lighthouse (TUR pending): TC99Y ( Done )
3. 19-22 September 2009 Balıkesir Bandırma Balyos Lighthouse (TUR pending): TC3BLH  ( Done )
4. 9-11 October 2009 Tekirdağ Marmara Ereğlisi Lighthouse (TUR 059): TC1ELH  ( Done )
5. 6 - 23 November  2009 Istanbul Yeşilköy Lighthouse (TUR 055): TC1YLH 
6. April 2010 Çanakkale Gelibolu Lighthouse  (TUR 023): TC1GLH 
7. May 2010 Tekirdağ Hoşköy Lighthouse  (TUR 025): TC1HLH
