On August 9th, 2008 The Lambton County Radio Club helped to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the 1st commercial oil well in North America by operating a special event station (using the club's callsign VA3OIL) from the site of that discovery (now a Canadian national historic landmark) in Oil Springs, Ontario, Canada. A special commemorative QSL is available for people who made valid contacts with the special event station via direct postal mail request with an SASE. USA QSL requests can be sent direct via KB1SF, 3560 Pine Grove Avenue #488, Port Huron, Michigan, 48060, USA. (NOT his Callbook address!) Canadian QSL requests can sent direct via VA3KSF, 377 Bentinck St, PO Box 33, Corunna, Ontario, N0N 1G0, Canada. For overseas stations, commemorative QSLs will also be returned through the US or Canadian QSL bureau by QSL request to either KB1SF or VA3KSF.
