ve3ptc, also va3vs, gm0ley,and kd8mgz. advanced license holder in canada and scotland,uk. general class in usa. now living in canada, for some 20 years. my station: yaesu ft 1000mp, yaesu ft 102, yaesu ft 101zd mk3, yaesu ft 101zd mk2, yaesu ft 847, tytera md 380 digital radio, .radio shack pro2045 scanner .realistic sx 190 rx. antenna's: modified cushcraft ma5b 2 elements on all 5 bands, beam antenna,for 20, thru 10m. 4 element yagi beam for 6m, homebru magnetic loop with vacuum cap for 10 thru 20m. diamond v2000a tri-band vertical for 6m, 2m and 70cms, 100' centre-fed horizontal fed with bal-line all the way to the tuner for 20m thru 80m, ho-10 scope, and hs 1661 ext speaker and hm102 meter. i have a soft spot for the older equipment, hence the ft 102 , and ft101zd mk2 and mk3 . when i obtained my first hf license, back in the U.K, my first "real" ham radio was a yaesu ft 102, without the relay troubles! boy, was that ever a fantastic radio, with adjustable tx audio, and a bullet-proof receiver, that could cope with any conditions. finally, i recently acquired an excellent condx ft102,which has been "malcomised". nc4l, what a great guy,and he really knows his stuff when it comes to the 102.
now starting to look at the drake radio's, and some tentec. i had a drake tr4, and loved it. looking fwd to obtaining a tentec corsair, and possibly an omni 6. very nice radio !!
