I was first issued the call ZS1IS around 1973 when we lived in Cape Town South Africa. In 1978 we came to Canada and in 1981 I was issued the call VE7CSQ. (ZS1IS was re-issued to Ian Sutherland V51C for a period. He used it in Walvis Bay. Ian Sutherland passed away from cancer in April 2004) When the VA series of calls was released by Industry Canada, I was issued VA7IS which is the call I generally use. I have retained VE7CSQ. The picture is of trees behind my home in North Vancouver, B.C. They are about 100 ft (30 metres) high. One end of my G5RV antenna ends about 35 ft. up in the trees on the left.
