HI All

My name is Brenton. I have been licensed for 20+ years and have enjoyed home brew and using the equipment I have built.

I have had several call signs. VK5ZBV, VK5KCG, VK5CBV and my current call VK3CBV.

Currently my main interest is SDR radio and have a working Genesis G59 radio, an excellent kit for the experimenter. I now also have a working G11 SDR with an output of 10 watts on 40m 30m 20m 17m 15m.

I have now enjoyed 2 DXPEDITIONS to YJ0. The first in 2010 where conditions were very poor with only a total of 6000 contacts between 4 guys.

The latests in 2012 were conditions were fantastic. The total this time round was 17000 contacts between 6 guys. My personal tally was 3000 contacts, mostly on CW.

Now looking forward to going to Norfolk Island May 2013. A bigger crew this time round. 5 stations 3 with hex beams.

Its been over 12 months since the teams trip to Norfolk, and 4 of us have decided to return this September. This time 3 stations and another Sota activation of Mt Bates.

Also listen out for our qrp operations from the cliff top near our main QTH. Last year we managed 100mW ssb to Canary Islands. A lot of fun.

We will also look at operating on 160m and 80m depending on conditions. Look forward to working you in the pile ups.

If you hear me on the bands please give me a call
