Goolwa is located on the coast 80km south of Adelade, the Capital City on South Australia. The 3el SteppIR was installed 14th November 2012.
The River Murray, Australia's longest river, enters the Southern Ocean near Goolwa.
The waters around the Murray Mouth are excellent for fishing and other water sports.
With all this beautiful water close by one just has to have a boat.
The Oscar W is a fine example of the wood fired paddle steamers that carried cargo on the River Murray, including wool and wheat, up to the 1890's when the railways took over. The Oscar has been fully restored, is powered by the original steam engine, and regularly cruises with tourists out of the River Port of Goolwa.
Sunrise over the River can be quite brilliant at times.
