I was first licensed in July 1958 while studying at the RMIT in Melbourne as VK3ZHB, and have held the following licenses -1960 VK7ZAP, 1962 VK2ZHB, 1963 VK7ZAP and from1966 to date, VK7WH. I was very active on 6M and 2M, and in the early 1960's I believe I was the first VK7 to work ZL on 2M.

From 1966 to 1972 I was active mainly on HF however due to business and family pressures, and several changes in QTH, I went QRT on HF in 1972 and on VHF shortly after. I did, however, keep my license current and finally after almost 38 years I returned to the bands in 2010. After a lot of catching up on all the new digital technology I am very much enjoying my return to the airwaves and chasing DX, with 200 Countries worked in the past 2 years.

After working for nearly 50 years in the Television Broadcast and Film and Television Production Industry I retired in 2005. I currently live at the small seaside Town of Orford, 60Klm North East of Hobart.

My current equipment is:

Icom IC-756PROIII Transceiver

Kenwood TS-480SAT operated remote via 2 x Remote Rig 1258MarkII Interfaces

SPE 2K-FA Linear 400W

6 Band K4KIO Hex Beam at 6 Metres

Dipoles for 80M, 40M and 30M

Logic9 Logging software
