[VIGYAN PRASAR, NIAR, ARSI]

 I WAS ASSOCIATED WITH ALL THE THREE PRIME ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED IN DESSIMINATION OF AMATEUR RADIO. TO ME THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS OF THE NAME. PRACTICALLY ALL ARE TOTALLY DEDICATED TO HAM RADIO AND HAVE COME A LONG WAY IN INDIA TO KEEP THE AMATEUR RADIO ACTIVITY GOING ON.

SOMETHING ABOUT MYSELF:

1980 to 1990 - Shortwave Listener

1992             - Came to know about Amateur Radio.

1992 to 1995 - Worked at DST as PA to VU2VBK [Dr. V. B. Kamble]. Also,

                       interacted daily with VU2SK (earlier VU2TDZ) [Sriram-Now

                       Silent Key] - the then Scientist at Vigyan Prasar. Learnt

                       various aspects of Ham Radio. In 1995, QSYed to another

                       Department.

1994 - 2005  - Shortwave Listener, Assisted various hams in Car Rallies.

                      Installed Antenna single handedly on Hotel HHH, Shimla.

                      VU2RC (Ravi) was the Control Station.

2005            -  VU2RBI (Bharathi),   the Co-ordinator of NIAR  taught me

                      Morse Code, Radio Theory and Rules & Regulations for 30

                      days. I sat in Amateur Radio Examination alongwith School

                      Children and passed the Grade-I License.

2006            -  Became ARSI Regional Co-ordinator in Gurgaon. Assisted

                      VU2BDX (Bharat), Member, Governing Body, ARSI in

                      radio communication at District Gurgaon Disaster

                     Preparedness Exercise organized by Gurgaon Administration.

                     Also, assembled my first homebrew ham radio project, viz.,

                     Power Supply with trickle charger under the guidance of

                     VU2BDX (Bharat).

2007 to 2008 - Net Control Station in New Delhi

2009             - In the process of Assembling ATS-1 20M SSB KIT of VU2IF

                      (Ashutosh) - relaunched by VU3CAV (Rajani) and VU2GTI 

                      (Gaurav).
