Marvin Ray Neals, PhD, (Ret) Born to Share Croppers (Tenant Farmers) on a Tobacco Farm in (Wilson County) North Carolina, May 16, 1943.
Parents: Father, Wiley D. Parker-Neals, born in Wilson, NC, and Mother, Cornelia Hardy (AKA-Sally Isom) -Neals, born near Jonesville, (Union County) SC.

Dr. Neals is the proud Father of 9 Children, 6 Boys -(Men Now) and 3 Girls (Ladies now). Oldest Son born in 1960 and youngest Daughter born in 1990.
His children are in various professions. Oldest Son (Deceased 1993) - Cosmetology, 2nd Son, Computer Engineering & Cyber Security, oldest Daughter, Engineering, 3rd Son, Minister (Baptist) and Cosmetologist, 4th Son, Health Care (Radiology & Physical Fitness), 5th Son, Member of the Air Force National Guard & Teacher (High School), 6th Son, Computer Graphics, 2nd Daughter, Talk Show Hostess-Radio Broadcasting, 3rd Daughter, (Executive Consultant with International Corporation) Her work in International Business allows for travel throughout Europe and South America. She is an avid & excellent Tennis Player.
Dr. Neals is also a very proud Grandfather. He now has 16 Grand Children,6 Boys and 10 Girls. (Expecting additional grandchild, October 2014)

Marvin has maintained a keen interested in health care, science, biomedical engineering, electronics, and radio communication since he was a very young boy "down on the farm" with absolutely no idea of how to fulfill his dream and goal of getting into communications or the science discipline.
Dr. Neals learned of Amateur Radio in depth in 1966 when he participated in CB for a very short period of time.
Dr. Neals health care/biomedical electronics/science career began in the Army in 1963 when he attended his first clinical engineering school located at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora (Denver) Colorado in Biomedical Engineering. Marvin went on to complete Pre-Med and obtained Academic Degrees in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Under Graduate Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Master Degree's in Engineering and Business Administration. His PhD is in Clinical Engineering and Health Care Administration.
First licensed in December 1970 as WN0DIS, then upgraded to WB0DIS February (1971). Held call signs WD4PVP, KD4EZ, W0MRN, WM0I and then obtained his current vanity call (W0QU) in 2008.
Dr. Neals served in the US Army for 20 years (from 1960 to 1980). He entered the Army as an Enlisted Soldier (Private E-1 at the age of 17). By the time that he was in his mid 20's, he was the First Sergeant of the 6th Medical Depot (Biomedical/Clinical Equipment Service/Maintenance) in South Korea.
In 1971, Marvin was promoted to Warrant Officer (Biomedical Engineering). Marvin retired in October of 1980 as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) at the age of 37 years.
Marvin maintains his love and enjoyment of Amateur Radio and get on the air and participate as much as his schedule and commitment to Family will allow.
His favorite bands include, 160 meters, 80 meters, 60 meters, 40 meters, 30 meters, 20 meters, 17 meters, 15 meters, 12 meters 2 meter SSB, & 430 SSB. He also enjoys the digital mode most now and may be found daily on 10, 12, 15, 20, 40 and 80 meters onm PSK or RTTY.
One can find Marvin during some evening hours when he visits the DX window on 80 meters from time to time as well. Activity also include SSB from 3.600 to 3.700 mHz.
