Born in 1923. Licensed as w8shc in 1938 in Syracuse, NY. Served in the US Army in Europe as a radio operator in the infantry. Came back to have call changed to W2SHC. Graduated Syracuse University, married and moved to NJ. Became a member of the NJDXA and eventually was its president. Got Extra Class license in 1968. Made #1 on DXCC honor roll in 1979. Was appointed to the DX Advisory committee in 1978. Served for 10 years on DXAC. Retired and moved to Florida in 1989. Still active chasing DX and have 380 countries including all on the present DXCC list except North Korea. Have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. None are hams.
