Licensed as a Novice in 1961 as WN4DUT. Re-licensed in 1974 as WD4IFK. Up-graded to Advanced in 1976 as KC4YX. Up-graded to Extra in 1987 as WV4Q then received my vanity call W4WV later in 1987. Taught Novice and up-grade classes with the help of Carl N4CRV (SK) and Art N4GSP (SK) and helped license over 500 Hams. Became a W5YI contact VE and with the help of many Tidewater Virginia Hams, administered over 7,000 exams. Helped put up and run the DX packet cluster from Fredericksburg, Virginia to Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Founding Member and helped start the Chesapeake Amatuer Radio Club. Member of the Virginia DX Century Club (VADXCC). Member of PVRC. Member of QCWA (licnesed 50 years). Member of the USS Wisconsin Radio Club (N4WIS). Helped install and sponsor the 146.61 repeter in Chesapeake, Va. and 146.33 repeter in Norfolk, Va. Have served as President of VADXCC for 2 terms and received the VADXCC  Ham of the Year award 2 times.

I served in the United States Air Force for my military service. I was with the 1st Air Commandos in Vietnam in 1963-64 with the "USAF Farngate Mission".

I am a licensed Architect. Was the Christian Broadcast Networks (CBN) staff Architect in 1978-79. Started my own business, Verebely and Associates, Architects in April 1980. I am now licensed in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I hold a NCARB Certificate which allows me to obtain an Architects license in any state.

Own WJLZ-FM Radio Station in Virginia Beach, Va., a Christian music format station (CHR) which my wife of 46 years manages.
