DX'ing, contesting, specialty modes like PSK31/Digital Slow Scan/FreeDV, satilites,and computers are my favorites. The picture displayed is of the awards for the Texas QSO Party the past few years. Member and former director of the Northwest Amateur Radio Society (NARS).

Rigs are a Elecraft K3 paired with a Drake L7 amp and a Kenwood TS2000 paired with an Ameritron 811H. Mobile rigs are a Kenwood TS480H and a Yaseu FT100D. Portable rig is a Yaseu FT817ND. Antennas are a Cushcraft A3 (w 40 m kit), Butternut HF2 (w 160m), GAP Challenger, inverted V for 80/40, 6m loop, 2 m 11el beam, X200 Diamond vertical, and 5 el beam for 432.

Retired from HP computers in August 2012.
