My wife, The lovely and gracious Nancy just passed her technician exam. She is KE5USG (Now K5TXR)!

I was exposed to ham radio in 1972 by my math teacher Bill Phillips W5OWJ SK. I was a 7th grader and a member of the Kirby Jr. High radio club - Jusdon ISD - San Antonio, TX. He was a former USAF officer and had these old B&W military "Ohms Law" films he would show us. They were boring and dry. But we did learn Ohm's law! He tried to teach us code but that didn't sink in for a long time. I became a technician class operator in 1992 (N2OKT) passed my general and advanced written but could not swing the code. finally passed the code in 2003 and re-took the general and tested on the extra and passed. I am not active in code. I don't care for code however, I don't beleive the code should be abolished as a requirement for the general or Extra!

I Graduated from Corning Community College 1984 (AAS-Electronic Technology) I worked as an electronics technician for 20+ years. Commercial FCC license/PCIA certification. Worked for Motorola Inc. COSC & MSS. (18+ years)

I am an Air Force Brat and a Veteran.
