The winter Camp Ground that I host is the San Pedro. It is located just off on HWY 90 to the west of the town of Del Rio.  The County is Val Verde the grid is DL99 I will be here from Nov 1 2009 to April 15 2010 at that time I will return to Marcell for the Summer Season.

 

The Minnesota Address is my FCC address and is good all year.  I have retired and am living in my SCAMP full time.

The North Star Camp Ground is located 5 miles south of the town of Marcell on  the National  Scenic Byway HWY 38 in the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota about 50 miles south of the Canadian Boarder

The shack is the front half of my Scamp Trailer. All contacts are QRP the scamp is solar powered using 2 Kyocera 43 watt modules ( about 4.5 amps an hour) into a pair of deep cycle batteries ( 250 amp hour storage) This system powers the rigs, the lights and a small laptop.

All CW HF Contacts are with an Icom 703 that has the 500 HZ CW filter.   For 80, 40 and 15 meters we use wire dipoles.  I have a WAS Basic, CW and 40 Meters all QRP. (#53,840 from MN)

All SSB and Satellite contacts are with a Yaesu FT-817 I have a KMA5054 log up 25 feet that is used for 6 and 2 meter contacts. 10 meters is a ground plane, an Elk Log is used for the birds.

I am a Member of ARRL, Flying Pigs # 1830, NAQCC # 2390, SKCC # 4774, Ten-Ten # 74931 and the Northern Lights Radio Society.

I am an Active QRP contester

I am an avid 6 meter operator working towards the FFMA award with 340 US grids from the MN QTH.

On the Birds I have a VUCC and the Oscar Sexagesimal Award # 136.

I respond to all QSL cards NO SASE is NEEDED!!! All contacts are uploaded to LoTW.
