The town of Marcell is located on the National Scenic Byway HWY 38 in the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota. Both the town of Marcell and North Star campground are located North of The Laurentian Divide so all the rivers flow north to the Canadian Boarder. This is the 14th season as a Volunteer for the US Forest Service.

The County is Itasca.

The Minnesota Address is my FCC address and is good all year. In the Summer I host the North Star Camp Ground on HWY38 (EN37en). A new trailer was purchased this year a 16 Foot Ice Castle this is an all Season Trailer and will be used in the camp ground and at the Visitor Center the trailer will be located on a small ridge (1451 elevation) overlooking Rainier lake (EN37do). In the winter I work as a Volunteer in the Visitors Center.

The HF setup is a Yaesu FT-950 we work only CW on 40 and 15 the antenna for 40/15 is a dipole for 10 and 15 meters I have a cushcraft R4. I work 10 meters and 6 meters both SSB and CW for 6 meters I have a KMA5054 Log.

For 2 Meter weak signal work I have a Kenwood TM-255A feeding A Mirage amp the antenna is also the KMA5054.

My first contact on a satellite was on the 25 of May 2002 on the 1700 UTC pass of UO-14using a FT-847 and M2 Eggbeaters I made contact with AJ9K and K6YK. I have a VUCC with 205 grids and the AMSAT Sexagesimal # 136

Current Satellite setup is the Kenwood TM-255A for the 2 meter,uplink antenna is Elk Log. The downlink is a Kenwood TH-D7(G) with a Amsat Broad Band VHF/UHF/WX Satellite RX Preamp for the FM birds, for the SSB birds I have a KLM Echo 70 the antenna is a 10 Element cross hatch Yagi both are angled up. 

I have a DXCC mixed (154) and CW(138)plus a 10 meter mixed (110)just added a 15 meter CW (105). A WAS Mixed, CW, and 40 Meters . I am actively chasing the FFMA with 374 Grids. My VUCC count is 405 grids verified on 6. I am an active most contests

I am APRS active using Kenwood TH-D7(G) and a Garmin GPS as W6GMT-5

I am a Member of ARRL, Northern Lights Radio Society, SKCC # 4774T.

All contacts are uploaded to LOTW , NO EQSL, QRZ log entries are acknowledged,

Paper QSL cards are exchanged NO SASE is needed.
