Greetings: LET US ALL PRAY FOR A STRONG AMERICA. SUPPORT OUR ARMED SERVICE MEN and WOMEN. HONOR OUR FLAG AND COUNTRY!! I have been a ham since 1964. My old calls were WN9LWJ and WA9LWJ. I was issued W9JN in May 1997. I spent two years in the U.S. Army with one year in Viet Nam, February 67-68 as a crypto intelligence radio operator. My wife Kathy and I are both reserve members of the Rudolph Volunteer Fire Dept. http://www.rudolphfd.net/ I've been a firefighter/EMT since 1970 and retired from active service January 21, 2010. Our son Brian, WB9E is an active member of the RVFD. Most of my radio time is spent on VHF weak signal operations.
As of March 17, 2011 my grandson Jacob Feltz received his Tech license and his General on December 31, 2013 His call is KC9TVG. His dad is Brian WB9E. I'm very proud of their accomplishments.
WAS on HF, 50 and 144. VUCC on 50-144-222-432. No longer on 222 and 432. 50 Mhz is my main interest band and am striving to get the FFMA award. My home grid is EN54dn. Always looking to set up WSJT/CW mode skeds on 50 and 144 Mhz. I have had good success using JT65B on 2 EME and just starting on 6m EME. I also have a beacon on 50.063KHz using a halo antenna at 35 feet. The beacon runs 20 watts and uses a W9XT beacon keyer. It's grid square designator is EN54dm located at Rudolph Fire station #4. Let me know if you hear it. We also are dog lovers. We have miniature dachshunds. Bosco is wired haired black and tan. Honey is red haired. Together they produced two litters. We kept one of the females. Ginger is the same size as ma and pa, but she would look like a grey, white and brown sheep dog if we didn't get her hair cut twice a year. We also have a chihuahua named Pubby. He's the senior member of the tribe. They sure are fun to have around!
I'm interested in my families heritage. Our family came from northwestern Poland in the middle 1860's to central Wisconsin. My son Brian is doing a genology study and has found family records dating back to the early 1700's from towns 25-100 km southwest of Gdansk. Some of the villages of interest are Lipusz, Lubiana, Tuszkowy, Koscierzyna, Kartuzy and Zukowo. My family name was changed from Felckowski to Feltz in the 1950's. We trace our heritage to the Pojezierzke Kaszubskie district.
Thanks for reading the info given and God be with you!
73, John W9JN
