I have been a Ham since 1991 when I got my Novice ticket through the Tryon Amateur Radio Club in Fulton County NY. What I guess is unique now is that I have held 5 different license classes from Novice to Extra (KB2NFK, N2NTR, KF2PI and now WA2EZ - Way too Easy). I am now President of the Tryon ARC. When it comes to Emergency Services, I fully agree with "It's not IF it will happen, but When it will happen" philosophy. I have been married since 1984 and have 4 wonderful children, a lovely wife who tolerates my radio addiction (most of the time). I am operating FT-990, FT-1000MP Mark V, FT-847 and many other Yaesu's. I have a few different Inverted Vee's for HF. I am very proud of the members in our club, we assisted in Hurricane Irene as the Mohwak River rose above it's banks. My fellow hams got out of bed and as our wives say, played radio with the boys. I will never forget the dedication shown by these members and those that train with us all year long. Without them, the TRYON ARC would not be the class act that it is today. We encourage Echolink visits. Our weekly RACES Net is every Tuesday at 7pm EST. Check in via Echolink at node #510372 Check out our club website at : K2JJI.org.
