Hello: I was first licensed in 1960 as WV2MUA, age 12. Upgrade to WA2MUA in 1961.
From Seaford and Merrick, NY from 1960-present. 100w + wire or yagi antennas. 8 band dxcc. 6 mtr: 72 dxcc.
Since 2014: Living in condo in Westbury, NY (same county-Nassau, NY).
From Westbury all on-air activity is via remote--Mostly from Danbury, CT fn31 (100w&dipole) In 2015 I also used remote at Summit, NY FN22 kw& yagis or 4square on 160. In 2016 occassionally from Monticello, NY (500w @ various antennas).
With the Summit station I completed 160mtr DXCC. 80, 40, 30, 17 & 12mtrs w/100w & a 135 end-fed wire, 10, 15 & 20 w/100w & triband yagi, all years ago and now 160 w/the "big gun" station. Many thanks to all who answered my QSL requests,
Years ago--as a teenager-- in an attempt to get enough wire for 160 I wrapped a quarter wave of wire around a pvc pipe, strapped it to a wooden gutter----burned a large notch in the gutter and could have burned my parents' house down!
QSL: LOTW, Direct or Buro. no sase needed. LOTW is loaded individually (I still use a paper log)---request via email.
Merrick address is still ok. Also: John Miller, apt 6M, 135 Post Ave, Westbury, NY 11590.
