If you have had a QSO with me -- thank you! If not, I look forward to chatting with you soon. I am active on CW and the digital modes. I also like to provide the "At least I did better than him" station in many contests. I am happy to QSL. I also upload all my QSOs to the Logbook of the World (LOTW) and I encourage you to do the same. My card, shown above, displays a picture of the Cedar Fire of 2003 here in Alpine. I lived in a horse trailer for three days while thousands of fire fighters tried to bring it under control. A dozen lives and hundreds of homes were lost, but luckily we were able to return to an undamaged house. My current station consists of an Elecraft trio: A K3/100, a K2 for QRP, and a KX1 for portable operation. For CW, my weapon of choice is a 1961 Vibroplex Blue Racer Deluxe. It is one of the most beautiful keys ever made and I can only try to do it justice. The antenna farm consists of a SteppIR at 35 feet for 40-6 meters and several wire antennas. I was first licensed in 1979 with the help of a great Elmer -- Mike, KI2W. I have previously held the calls KK6MS, AH6CL, and WH6AKX (Novice). I also operated as 7J4AAD from 1987 to 1990 while living in Japan. I am a member of FISTS (13039), QRP ARCI (12742), 10-10 (74844), SKCC (4210T), Flying Pigs (1607), and the Royal Order of the Wouff Hong. Ham Radio remains a lifelong hobby for me. My other passions include horseback riding, flying about in small airplanes, and running with the Hash House Harriers. 73 to you and yours, and enjoy this great hobby of ours!
