Hello! My name is Don Hinds and I’ve been a licensed Ham since 2006. I gradually worked my way up until I now hold my Extra and my VE credentials.
With a whooping five years under my belt, I’m definitely still a newbie to the hobby and learn something new just about every time I power up my radio.

Most of my operation is CW these days using a straight key. I’m not very fast yet, but I’m determined to get better. I also tend to run QRP power,
but if I’m having trouble being heard, I am willing to use the full 100 watts my Kenwood TS-2000 is capable of producing.

I also love building radio projects and little widgets to use around the shack. Just wish I had more time to piddle away.

I’m having so much fun with this radio stuff, it’s hard to believe I waited so long to get my license.
