I served as a Radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1970-77, and was a CW operator. While attending RM School, I was lucky enough to have Dennis Brooks, N3BRY as my roommate. We spent a lot of time at the club station (with the complete Collins "S" line!) and I was hooked! I am a member of the Coast Guard CW Operator's Association, ARRL and serve as the Secretary (Yeoman) of the Coast Guard Amateur Radio Club (www.w5cgc.org). Myhome HFsetup consists of an Icom IC-746 Pro, Ameritron AL-811 amplifier feeding a 3-element Telex TH3-JR beam up at 55 feet. I also am active on D-Star with two Icom IC-2820h"s (one in the home shack, one for mobile) and an Icom IC-91AD. I am also sending out D-PRS positioning information from the IC-2820H mounted in my truck. New item. I have now mounted a Yaesu FTM-10R for motorcycle mobile. In my spare time (Spare time??? What a concept!!!), you can find me playingwith the Grandkids (2 boys, one girl!) playing with the radio, riding my 2010 Honda Goldwing or butchering wood in my shop.
