I operated portable J6 on the island paradise of St. Lucia from 5/23/2016 to 5/28/2016. QSL via my home address.
I have been licensed since 1985, my original call was KA1MXZ. My interests include DXing, Contesting, Antenna design, QRP and most recently experimenting with some digital modes (RTTY, JT9, JT65, PSK-31, PSK-63 and PSK-125).
I have recently completed my pursuit of a 5 Band DXCC, all QSO's were completed with 100 watts or less using simple wire Dipoles and Verticals. I really struggled on 80 Meters to get my 100 confirmed there.
I have earned DXCC endorsements for Mixed, Phone and CW , still working on my Digital endorsement.
I will QSL 100% via
Direct (US - SASE appreciated, but not required, DX one Green Stamp)
LOTW, QRZ and eQSL
I am a member of the following clubs
My Station Transceiver Equipment includes -
Yaesu FT-757 (a.k.a. 'Old Betsy' which I used to get my basic DXCC with assorted badly tuned antennas)
The following is a picture of my station Antenna for 10/15/20 Meters, specifically it is a Hy-Gain AV-12AVQ Tri-Band HF Ground Mounted Trap Vertical with a Radial Field
The following is a picture of my Home Brew Junk Yard Special, a 40 Meter Mono-Band Ground Mounted Vertical with a Radial Field. This same antenna is pressed into service for 80 Meters using the LGD-100 Remote tuner.
