We operate the station as part of the International Lighthouses On The Air weekend, traditionaly heldover the third weekend in August

Dates for 2012 are 18-19th August

Flamborough head is a prominent headland on the East Yorkshire coastline and overlooks chalk cliffs towards the North Sea

 

The station operates HF and VHF 80m to 2m. The HF antenna comprises 80/40m fan dipole and a 5-band 'Cobweb'. The VHF antenna consists of 6m and 2m beams and dipoles and a 3-band vertical co-linear.

Our main antenna is supported by a stub mast that gives 16m (50ft) of elevation. Radios are Kenwood TS570D or Yaesu FT-1000 MP MkV Field with Acom linear for HF. Club members provide VHF and auxilliary radios as required. 2009 also saw the station running an Elekraft K2 qrp station on PSK31.

this year you might hear us on 4m fm from our campsite overlooking the lighthouse using our own call signs. please listen out for us on 70.450.

station operators for 2011 will be chris M0PGE, mick M0MDA, mick M6MWP,robert 2E0RCR, robin G1MHU and roger M0XPT. other club members may also join us at sometime over the weekend.

 

Call in if you hear us, if we hear you we will work you,we are on-air throughout the weekend and well into the evenings and nights when conditions allow.
