Email: Login required to view QSL: BUREAU PREFERRED

Click for more detail...

QSLing:

  • I0JX: I confirm all contacts via the bureau (very easy with www.globalqsl.com). Your QSL will be highly appreciated.
  • IS0/I0JX: I answer all received QSLs. Please send your card via the bureau.

Otherwise, if you really need a fast QSL, send me your card direct and I will return you mine direct as well. No need for $ or IRC, but please enclose a SAE.

Please note that:

  • I do not print eQSLs (tedious and ... most of them look alike).
  • I am not a LoTW member (little interest for awards...).

Phone calls or SMSs: my cellular phone is always on, dial (+39)-335-384315.

VHF Beacons: details on the I0JX/B beacons operating on 50.004 MHz and 70.088 MHz are given at http://www.qsl.net/i0jx/beacon.html.

Sardinia operations (IS0/I0JX): I occasionally operate from Porto San Paolo (OT province), facing Tavolara island (WW locator JN40RU). Mostly CW on the WARC bands.

Personal info: I became interested in electronics in 1961 and graduated in communications engineering in 1972 at the Rome university. Presently I am an executive officer of a company dealing with satellite payloads, antenna & digital hardware design and prototyping.

Ham Radio info: you can see my Yagi antenna on the QRZ.COM GridMap. The pointer is just positioned on the mast-to-boom clamp.

I started my ham-radio career in 1964, at 17, with an home-built AM transmitter and a Geloso G. 4/214 receiver, see http://www.qsl.net/i0jx/geloso.htm.

My two-letter call belongs to the first series of post-WWII calls which were issued until 1970 and never re-issued since then (we have no vanity call program in Italy). Not too many of them still around, see http://www.qsl.net/i0jx/twoletter.html.

Today, my main interests are equipment building, and collecting & restoring vacuum-tube ham-radio sets, see http://www.qsl.net/i0jx/station.html.

My favorite band is 50-MHz. At page http://www.qsl.net/i0jx/log6m.txt you can see my 6-meter DX log (227 DXCC countries, 43 US states and 36 CQ Zones as of July 2008).

I have always been a country hunter on all bands, and have all DXCC countries confirmed (though I have quitted submitting ARRL cards for credit since many years). I have also participated in many contests, twice getting world top-scorer in the 40-meter ARRL CW contest.

I have been very active on satellites (AO-7 to AO-13) working more than 100 countries and all the US states.

My wife has a VHF-only license with call IW0BRW (now also allowed to operate HF), see http://www.qrz.com/db/IW0BRW.

I also hold the matching US call K0JX since 1996 (formerly AB6VZ, since 1993), see http://www.qrz.com/db/K0JX.

See you on the bands, 160 meters to 70 centimeters (and some satellite), mostly CW.
