In El Paso County, RACES is part of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Services Division, and is integrated into the County Emergency Plan. Their base of operations is in the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), while also equipped to operate at any other location in the region. RACES runs a packet BBS on 144.930 MHz. You can find more information about EPC RACES at www.epcraces.org . You should also feel free to check in to one of our weekly nets, or be our guest at a monthly meeting. Nets: Our VHF Net is held Tuesdays at 1930 local time on the 146.760 MHz Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group (CMRG) repeater (no tone required). The backup frequency is the CMRG 147.345 MHz (107.2 tone) repeater. This is our regular weekly net where you can get information about all current events, ask questions, and get some on-the-air training. Our HF Net is held Sundays immediately following the Colorado State RACES Net which starts at 1800 local time on 3990.5 KHz (80 meters, LSB). Meetings: Our monthly meeting is held on the third Thursday of each month at 1900 local time at the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Law Enforcement Bureau building, 101 West Costilla Street, Colorado Springs. Entry is through the west door off of the parking lot. As this is a secure facility, talk-in is on 146.490 MHz simplex and someone will let you in.
