I am a retired engineer after 25 years at Honeywell Engines and Systems. My XYL is N7ZZC, Dina, an RN. I am an active DX operator, tolerate contesting, and very active in the Central AZ DX Assoc. I have two operating locations. Station one is in Laveen, SW of Phx. Laveen is Grid DM33. Station 2 is in Overgaard 150 miles East of Metro Phoenix in the White Mountains above the Mogollon Rim at 6600 feet. This location is Grid DM44 and is in Navajo County. Visit www.k8bn.com for photos and check the live cameras. In Laveen, I use an Icom 756 Pro III. The amp is a 1964 Henry 2K2 with a pair of 3-400's. The 72 Foot self supporting U.S. tower (home brew motorized by your's truly) has a Mosley Pro 67 C and a sloper for 75. On 80 I use a GP with elevated radials. Mobile, 1999 GMC 4x4, has an IC-706 and Hustler antennas. One of these days I'll add a six meter yagi, to the tower, not the GMC. In Overgaard I am lucky enough to have three towers, two at 105 feet and one at 64. Tower one has a KT36 at 105 ft., a KT34 at 75 ft. favoring Asian , and a KT34 at 50 ft. pointed to the Caribbean. Tower two has a M sq.4 el. 40 at 105 ft. and a Cushcraft 2 el 40 fixed on the Caribbean at 75 ft. Tower three has a 3 el SteppIr at 65 ft. Eighty meter 'Super Square' is installed, 3/8 wave spaced, with four 72 foot self supporting aluminum verticals from M squared, and a Comtek Systems controller. Rig is an FT1000Mark V and Alpha 87A. Licensed since 1958 as KN8NSA, then in May of 1959 became K8NSA, and changed my call to K8BN when I received my Extra in 1974. I've always been active. I enjoy working with computers, DX Clusters, and the internet. Did I mention that I enjoy a good cigar from time to time? I am the trustee of K7XZ also, and can respond to QSL requests for that call, sent to me in Laveen, AZ . Thanks. Last modified: 2011-09-02 21:09:01, 1885 bytes cached
