**June 30th, The day the event starts, KU2US/K2A-NY will be transmitting on 2 meter simplex at the Rochester, NY. Hamfest where we will have a display booth for the 13 Colonies Special Event. Frequency will be +/-146.460 FM-at 25 watts mobile in the parking lot. Here is a chance some of you New York stations have to bag a hard one. K2A QSL cards will be issued On The Spot after the transmission period of 1-2 hours. Times will be 10:00 AM Eastern start and will finish 1-2 hours later. QSL cards will be issued right after the transmission ends at the 13 Colonies booth inside the main hamfest vendors building (RIT Campus). The QSL card that will be issued is the "K2A Olde Fort Niagara Card"shown above.

QSL CARDS: ALL Colony stations will issue a special event QSL card. K2A/KU2US will issue a QSL card for NY. For all 12 other cards, please QSL to that Colony States designated call at QRZ.COM. Also please include an SASE for the QSL card only. Certificate requests only to KU2US (Below).Most QSL cards created and printed for the Colony Stations by Randy Dorman-KB3IFH, Also a Colony Station - K2F in Maryland-NICE! Collect all "13" for a set. All Colony States have real nice S/E QSL cards in full color, depicting their state or other Colonial period/Patriotic designs& Historical Locations! This is a must have collection for any shack wall! These cards are a limited addition of one thousand and may change from year to year. First come first served! The only way you can aquire a "set" is to complete a "Clean Sweep" of all Colony stations during the 5 day event. We QSL 100%. Sorry, no Buro-direct only Good Luck!

THE EVENT WILL START SATURDAY JUNE 30TH, AT 9 AM EASTERN (13:00 UTC), AND END JULY 5TH,24:00 PM EASTERN (0400 UTC-6th) THATS 6 DAYS! THE REASON FOR THIS IS LESS OPERATING TIME. MONDAY, TUESDAY AND THURSDAY (July 2nd, 3rd, 5th) ARE WORK DAYS FOR MANY SO MOST OF THE Q'S WILL TAKE PLACE AT NIGHT ON THOSE DATES FOR THOSE NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE DAY. PILE-UPS GALORE! SATURDAY IS ABONUS DAY! QSL cards and the certificate will still say July 1st-5th.

COLONYSATELLITE STATIONS ON THE AIR AGAIN! Dave Webb KB1PVH, will spearhead the 13 Colonies Satellite Group again this year for 2012. Dave is a Colony Satellite station from MA. (K2H). Any satellite station can work the 13 Colonies states off the birds. A special "Satellite" endorsement will be added to your certificate-please indicate your contacts are Satellite. Granted, you have only 15-20 minutes for a pass, but this makes it more interesting and challenging. On June 30th to July 5th, call Dave and his "Space Guys" on the birds, and have some fun. PLEASE NOTE: K2A/NY offers a fantastic Satellite Special Event card for 2012. Only 300 printed. QSL ONLY to WB2OQQ

Certificate Endorsement-WM3PEN-2012: Special event station/Club WM3PEN (For William Penn) Will be celebrating the 4th of July week Special Event Again, representing Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA and CMDR. BARRY-THE FATHER OF THE US NAVY, and will participate with us during our 4th of July week event. If you make a "Q" with WM3PEN, make a full data entry on your log sheet you send to me for the certificate, and a "NEW LIBERTY BELL" endorsement with the WM3PEN call, will be placed on your certificate. They also are offering a Great custom QSL card. Send them an SASE, IRC or Green Stamp ($1). Look up WM3PEN at QRZ.COM. This will add to the fun of the Independence week celebrations. 2012- "COLONIAL ERA US NAVY TALL SAIL SHIPS". (1775-1830). EIGHT OLD US NAVY TALL SHIPS SURROUND THE PERIMETER OF THIS 2012 CERTIFICATE, WITH A LARGE PHOTO OF THE FAMOUS WARSHIP "USS CONSTITUTION" (OLD IRONSIDES), DEPICTED IN THE CENTER. IN FULL COLOR (SEE ABOVE TOP RIGHT)-EXCELLENT!

ATTENTION SWL: All Short Wave listeners (SWL). You will also qualify for the certificate. Follow the instructions above when you submit your log. A special SWL logo will be affixed to the certificate for you. One or all 13 stations logged qualifies you. Just log ALL of the 13 Colony states and you can get a complete set of custom special event QSL cards also! all 13 are different. ALSO we ask all operators to please have consideration for other stations. Please limit your contacts to one Colony state each if possible. This will give the stations with "no gain" antenna's, stations working 100W,QRP/Mobiles and DX a chance to get all "13" too! We are out to have some fun this 4th of July week, and will try to appease everyone. I say this because of the projected participation we will have this year. All indicators are pointing to another increase in "QSO's"over 2011. We did over 40,100 "Q's". We thank you for your consideration in advance

All operators will use the Special Event 1X1 callsigns, broadcasting their HOME CALL as needed for QSLing. We know how many operators we have for each Colony state and who they are, so if a K2- 1x1 call sign is posted more times than there are operators for that state, then one is a pirate. I will be monitoring the frequencies and the pile-ups periodically, to insure you are contacting a legit Colony Station. ANY STATION THAT IS NOT A K2A THRU K2M, is not affiliated with the 13 Colonies event. Please do not get confused.
